What Happens Next?

After you submit the inquiry form, I’ll review your information and get back to you as soon as possible to schedule a consultation. This initial conversation will give us the opportunity to discuss your needs, answer any questions you may have, and decide on the next steps.

Your Journey Begins Here

Remember, there’s no right or wrong way to start therapy. The most important thing is that you’re taking this step for yourself. I’m here to offer a safe, affirming, and supportive space for you to work through whatever challenges you’re facing.

Thank you for your trust, and I look forward to the possibility of working together. Here is more information on what you can expect out of therapy.

  • Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and any concerns you might have. It’s a chance for you to share your story in a safe, non-judgmental space. We’ll also discuss practical details, such as scheduling and confidentiality, to make sure you feel comfortable moving forward.

  • Therapy is a personal journey, and it’s natural to have questions about whether it’s the right fit for you. If you’re experiencing challenges related to identity, relationships, stress, or life transitions, therapy can provide valuable support. Our work together will focus on helping you better understand yourself, develop coping skills, and navigate the challenges you’re facing with greater confidence.

  • The frequency of our sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. Typically, clients start with weekly sessions to build momentum and establish a strong therapeutic relationship. Over time, we may adjust the frequency based on your progress and comfort level.

  • Feeling nervous about starting therapy is completely normal. It’s a new experience, and it’s natural to have some anxiety about opening up to someone new. My goal is to create a warm, affirming environment where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Remember, therapy is a collaborative process, and we’ll move at a speed that feels right for you.

  • Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy, and your privacy is of the utmost importance. Everything we discuss in our sessions will remain confidential, with a few exceptions required by law (such as if there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others). We’ll go over these details in our first session so you’re fully informed.

  • Absolutely. Therapy through Telehealth can be just as effective as in-person sessions. It offers the same level of confidentiality, support, and care, with the added convenience of being in a space where you feel comfortable. Many clients find they can open up more easily from their own home, and we’ll use video, voice, and interactive tools to ensure you feel connected and supported.

Affirmative Therapy in California

(Wisconsin Coming Soon!)

I am licensed to provide therapy across California, which allows me to see clients both in-person and through Telehealth. For those located in Northern California and surrounding cities, we can meet for in-person sessions at my local office. If you live elsewhere in California or prefer the convenience of virtual sessions, I offer Telehealth therapy, allowing us to connect securely from anywhere in the state. This flexibility means you can access the support you need, whether you're nearby or in any other part of California.
